November 6 @ 8:00 am – November 13 @ 5:00 pm
This fall, Sustainable Woodstock will be collaborating with WindowDressers to make custom-built, interior storm window inserts for residents of: Woodstock, Windsor, Hartland, Pomfret, Barnard, Bridgewater, Plymouth, and Reading. The inserts are easy to install, removable, and reusable. They let light in, keep drafts out, and reduce heating costs. Window Dressers estimates that on average, 10 medium-sized inserts will save 85 gallons of heating fuel per year.
Join us as a volunteer to help make this event possible!
What to expect as a volunteer: Shifts are anywhere from 1.5 to 4 hours long, and volunteers typically learn one or two simple steps in the insert-building process. You will be trained at the beginning of your shift on how to do your task. Volunteering for multiple shifts is encouraged! Lunch is provided to all participants.
Not interested in building inserts? Volunteer to bring a lunch dish that serves 8 people on one or more of the days or help to manage the kitchen during lunch!
This program is made possible by the generosity of the North Universalist Chapel Society, the Canaday Fund, Hypertherm, Mascoma Bank, and Woodstock Farmers Market.
