Green Drinks Woodstock

Sustainable Woodstock has been hosting Green Drinks in Woodstock since the end of 2014. The loose structure of the program has allowed for us to offer a diverse style of gatherings, from TED talk style presentations, to high school students’ presentations, to mushroom foraging. Our monthly social hours have helped organizations recruit volunteers, find donors, and connect with a wider audience. Needless to say Green Drinks have been fantastically successful!

Green Drinks Upper Valley

We would like to make Green Drinks more regionally accessible to the public and environmental organizations by expanding it beyond Woodstock and hosting it in other venues in the Upper Valley. We also hope that Green Drinks can be more of an opportunity for environmental groups to network, share ideas, and collaborate every month over a drink and a bite to eat.

AND SO…

Starting in 2020 we are changing the structure of Green Drinks to meet the needs of our regional Green Drinks partners, both geographically, but also in facilitating an easy and fun environment to exchange ideas, offer support, and broaden our missions and impact.

Upper Valley Green Drinks– 2020 Planning Meeting

Green Drinks are meant to be fun, but we also want them to be useful and have shared value among our partnering organizations which is why we would like to meet once per year to “make a plan.” Our first annual Green Drinks planning meeting will be for our Green Drinks partnering organizations to get together, learn about what Green Drinks is and how it is used in other parts of the world, to share ideas and expectations, to discuss its potential value, and to plan out the general logistics for the 2020 Green Drinks schedule.

Agenda:
1:00-1:30 Green Drinks Overview
Sustainable Woodstock will give a general overview of what Green Drinks International is and how it is used in other locations.  and ask others who have attended other Green Drinks to share their experiences.
1:30-2:00   Prompt Brainstorming
We will ask attendees what they or the organizations they represent hope to get out of an Upper Valley Green Drinks and what their expectations are as a partnering organization. We will then synthesize these thoughts into “prompts” to be used in the World Cafe. (We will ask organizations to reflect on this question before they arrive)
2:00-2:45      World Cafe
Attendees will be broken up into small groups, and each group will reflect on each of the prompts which were developed during the brainstorming to determine how the interests and expectations of an Upper Valley Green Drinks can be achieved in a fun and social atmosphere.
2:45- 3:00     WHAT, WHEN, WHERE for Green Drinks 2020 Series Schedule
We will ask folks ideas for locations, dates, and times for hosting a 2020 Upper Valley Green Drinks series. We will also talk about what it means to become a partnering organization.

Venue Information:
The Woodstock Town Hall is located in the heart of the Woodstock Village. We will be meeting in the conference room on the 2nd floor. To get there go in the front door of the Town Hall and take the steps in the lobby up to the second floor. There is a handicap accessible elevator that goes to the 2nd floor. To access go down the covered walkway on the exterior right side of the Town Hall.

Parking:
Free parking is located in front of and behind the town hall. There are 2 handicap accessible parking spaces directly in front of the Town Hall Entrance.

We request that only one person from each organization attend so that there are equal voices among all the potential partnering organizations. Attendees should discuss interests and expectations of Green Drinks with colleagues before they attend to make sure they are representing their organizations fully.
