SUMMARY:Annual E-Recycling and Document Shredding Day
DESCRIPTION:Shred-Ex will accept your sensitive documents for shredding. Good Point Recycling will collect used electronics for recycling and reuse\, such as televisions\, computers and monitors\, peripherals\, printers\, telephones\, electronic game consoles\, handheld electronic devices and stereo equipment.Suggested Donation of $5.00 for each box of documents and all electronics donations encouraged. \n\n\n\nLocation: Woodstock Union High School Middle School parking lot\, 100 Amsden Way\, Woodstock \n\n\n\nAbout 20% of equipment collected by Good Point is refurbished for reuse. Some TVs and computers are wholesaled to Vermont stores that sell restored second-hand equipment. Parts and working machines are sold nationwide. Good Point also partners with a job training program based out of Addison County that teaches skills for repairing and refurbishing used electronics. \n\n\n\nElectronics that cannot be refurbished are responsibly recycled and much of the material is processed for reuse. Glass\, tubes\, circuit boards and monitors are used domestically and overseas. Raw materials—aluminum\, steel\, copper and iron—are sourced to spot markets. This mitigates harm done to the environment by reducing the need for virgin resources extracted from the Earth.

DESCRIPTION:Learn about the impacts of Multiflora Rose and help us remove the plant from the Farm and Wilderness pasture! \n\n\n\nHave you ever wondered how to identify and manage Multiflora Rose? Join Farm & Wilderness Conservation and Sustainable Woodstock us as we learn about the biology of the plant and how we manage this invasive species. Participants will help us remove a patch of Multiflora Rose in one of the agricultural pastures at Farm & Wilderness in Plymouth VT. \n\n\n\nThis event is free and open to all ages\, children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Specific directions provided upon registration. Please come prepared with closed toed shoes\, hats\, long sleeves and pants\, bug repellent and water. \n\n\n\nSnacks and water provided as well as gloves and other removal tools. \n\n\n\nThis is a great way to connect with your community to learn more about the impacts of invasive species and how we can minimize their spread. Please note that participant contact information will be shared with both Farm & Wilderness and Sustainable Woodstock.
