Celebrate Earth Day with renowned activist and author FrancesMoore Lappé as she presents: Climate Crisis In Focus: Finding Hope ThroughDemocratic Action.
Frances Moore Lappé is the author or co-authorof 20 books about world hunger, living democracy, and the environment,beginning with the three-million copy Diet for a Small Planet (1971). InSpring 2021, Lappé released It's Not Too Late! Crisis, Opportunity, and thePower of Hope.
In America today, many of us can feeloverwhelmed by the simultaneous political, economic, and climate crises uponus. Frances Moore Lappé discusses these three interacting roots of ourproblems: a brutal form of capitalism, big money's grip on our democracy, andclimate catastrophe. She shows us how realizing their unity can be empowering,not overwhelming. They open historic opportunity. Addressing one crisis, we areworking to solve all three. Through inspiring stories and startling facts,Frances helps us realize our own power to generate a new story as we tacklethese root causes with exhilarating, courageous action—together.
