This fund provides assistance to residents of the greater Woodstock area who need help securing basic necessities like food, medicine, shelter, and clothing losses related to Hurricane Irene.
In its initial phase, the fund will direct its resources to the emergency survival needs of people who are most vulnerable, based on age, physical condition, general life circumstances, and the extent of loss.
After responding to the immediate crisis of the flood, and depending on monies available, the fund will consider requests for additional support from eligible persons who need assistance in reestablishing their lives.
To receive financial support
The fund will consider requests for support from residents of the towns served by the Windsor Central Supervisory Union (the towns of Barnard, Bridgewater, Killington, Pomfret, Reading, and Woodstock).
PHASE 1: For help with immediate flood-related needs
Please fill out this brief form to assist in our considerations: here’s a version in Microsoft Word and a PDF version if you don’t have Word [this requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view or print, a free download available here].
PHASE 2: For help with longer-term challenges
As the need for emergency relief funding winds down, we have begun processing applications for Phase 2 funding. These grants are designed to fill the gap when money received from other sources (e.g., FEMA, private insurance) does not meet the basic needs of families trying to reestablish their lives. To apply for funding, please use this form.
