FREE FILM SCREENING—More Than Honey

80% of plant species require bees to be pollinated. Without the pollinization provided by bees, many fruits and vegetables could disappear from the face of the Earth. Depending on the world region, 50% to 90% of all local bees have disappeared, and this epidemic is still spreading from beehive to beehive – all over the planet. Everywhere, the same scenario is repeated: billions of bees leave their hives, never to return. No bodies are found in the immediate surroundings, and no visible predators can be located. Scientists have found a name for the phenomenon that matches its scale, “colony collapse disorder.”

Woodstock's First Community Solar Array!

Rainbow Playschool is moving its location to the old “Purple Crayon” building near the Mt Tom sledding hill. In addition to the new location, they will also be building a 150 kWh Community Solar Array to be installed by Sundeaver. 50 kWh of the solar array’s electricity is planned to go to the “Rainbow Playschool,” which leaves 100 kWh of additional solar electricity that can be purchased by local residents. If you want to learn about the array, or if you would like to inquire about participating, please complete the inquiry form by clicking on the link below. (You can find your annual electrical usage on your electrical bill or on your GMP online account. Contact us if you need help finding these numbers)
